How to move a caboose.....

I volunteered to spearhead moving a caboose for the Pioneer Club. It had been sitting in the scrap yard for a couple of years, until we secrured its purchase last fall.We had been waiting for the ground to freeze up before moving it. I contacted Landwehr Construction for the crane work and Budde Trucking for the transport. It just so happens we decided to move it on the coldest day of the year, about 10 deg. all day with a stiff North wind. brrrrrr.

All rigged, and ready for the lifting, about 37000# worth.

Pretty basic pick it up and swing it over a semi trailer.

Finally making ome headway on the Buttaco Project....

Working on the rear frame sections, should have it much closer by next weekend.

Still unsure what to do about the exhaust...
